Charles Ferich, 89 of Lancaster, points to his name on the Consolidated B-24 Liberator “Witchcraft” WWII Heavy Bomber after arriving on the plane at the York Airport from Williamsport, Wednesday October 10, 2012.  Ferich was the tail gunner on the B-24 as part of the 465 Bomb Group and was shot down over Germany on his 73rd mission. As part of the Collings Foundation’s WINGS OF FREEDOM TOUR, a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress “Nine O Nine” WWII Heavy Bomber, and the Consolidated B-24 Liberator “Witchcraft” WWII Heavy Bomber will fly into York Airport in York, PA for a visit from October 10 to October 12. Vets are encouraged to attend and people can go up in the aircraft for a price.
