Marc Duell of Greenville PA stands with his 1973 Harley-Davidson Sportster, the very first bike to be built in the York plant. Duell didn't know he had a special bike until 2011 when he was having the Harley restored for his son's 21st birthday. The mechanic mentioned that the motorcycle featured a 0000 VIN number, and after contacting Harley headquarters, he learned that it was indeed, the very first motorcycle assembled in York. York's plant now builds 65% of all the Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Duell's historic Sportster will be on display throughout the open house.
